Meet the Team

  • Stella Braun (she/her)

    CO-FOUNDER

I am a full time nanny and currently completing my Early Childhood Education diploma. I have a strong passion for outdoor and child-led education. I founded Wild Child Playgroup in January 2023 with the hope of meeting like-minded caregivers and parents who wanted to be outside no matter the weather. I believe children thrive best outside! You’ll see me every week leading playgroup. I also manage the social media, and help organize collaborations.

  • Jennifer Stumpf (she/her)

    CO-FOUNDER

When Stella first started discussing Wild Child I knew I had to get involved. I had been a board member of a similar organization in Ontario, which was a really valuable experience and one I hope can help our little group grow. I also teach at UVic in the Geography department and know the importance of being "in the field". It's the best place to learn and grow - whether you're 2 or 32! I'll be leading some of the activities, as well as working on funding and partnerships to expand Wild Child in Victoria.

  • Emma Gueldenstern (she/her)

    VOLUNTEER

I’ve been working in childcare through daycare and nannying for several years. I follow a nature-based, Montessori-inspired approach so when I heard about Wild Child I immediately wanted to be involved. I host the song and story circle-time, see you there!

  • Kaela Brite (they/she)

    VOLUNTEER

I'm an artist, photographer and professional nanny of 10 years with a special focus in working with neurodiverse families. I use a blend of responsive parenting, Montessori and unschooling based methods to help raise amazing humans. You can find me taking pictures at each new location, leading the occasional circle time and answering questions when Jen and Stella are unavailable.

  • Sophie Lapierre (she/her)

    VOLUNTEER

My background is as a preschool teacher and an educational assistant. When I first heard about Wild Child I knew it was something I wanted to be part of! I am a momma of two with a third on the way and enjoy spending as much time in nature as possible.

  • Kim Dunn (she/her)

    VOLUNTEER

I’m a proud mama and adventurer, who would always rather be outdoors. I discovered Wild Child the week before my baby was born, while looking for new ways to be in nature with my growing family. It was exactly the community I had hoped to find, and we’ve been going ever since. I’m also a professional conservationist at a large non-profit, a naturalist, and a poet. It’s my sincere pleasure to help out with governance, funding, and other initiatives to help Wild Child thrive.
