Our mission.
Wild Child's mission is to support parents in developing their child's relationship with nature. We strive to educate parents on the benefits of risky, open-ended, and unstructured outdoor play.
Wild Child supports communities in Victoria by providing accessible and inclusive nature-based early learning opportunities that foster connection for young children and their families.
Why outdoor education?
At Wild Child, we believe that children thrive when immersed in the natural world. Our approach is deeply inspired by Waldorf education, which emphasizes respect for nature, rhythm, and the development of the whole child- head, heart, and hands.
Unstructured outdoor play allows children to move freely, follow their inner curiosity, and engage all their senses. Nature provides endless opportunities for imaginative, messy, and risky play that supports healthy physical development and deepens the child's relationship with the earth.
Rooted in the seasonal rhythms and guided by the children’s interests, outdoor education fosters resilience and creativity. It invites children to slow down, notice the world around them, and connect to themselves, to others, and to the land.
